The Essenza Residence complex is located in IOSEFIN, an old residential district of Timișoara, in a context built at the beginning of the 20th century where the plots are mostly occupied with collective housing organized around an inner courtyard and aligned to the street in continuous fronts.
The location on Mangalia street, with its generous and green prospect, the proximity of the BEGA canal and the WATER TOWER, give the place obvious qualities. The street, the public transit space, has a pleasant and interesting image, with the green area in the foreground and built fronts perceived visually in a secondary plan.
The building consists of two overlapping volumes. The basic volume, integrated into the street front, is related to the neighbors, both through its scale and through the apparent brick finish of the facades.
The upper volume is white, simple, with carefully proportioned gaps and with wide views over the textured landscape of the rooftops of the Iosefin neighborhood, over the Water Tower and the green banks of the Bega canal.
Through the spatial-volumetric configuration of the building, semi-public spaces are created to encourage interaction between the tenants: THE INTERIOR COURTYARD, with access to the partially free ground floor level and the COMMON TERRACE placed above the basic volume, facing both the street and the Bega canal with The Water Tower, with access from the third floor.
